Trapped for days...
The mercenaries are making their Last Stand. Surrounded by the Evil Creatures (Mr. Tiddles and Goatboy) they have resorted to eating pigeons to survive. Soon they run out of pigeons to eat.
Fear, Lack of Food, and Water can make a person desperate enough to commit heinous acts to survive.
Hopefully, they will resort to Cannibalism (the practice of people who eat human flesh).
In the dead of night, you can hear bones smashed and flesh ripped clean off the bone. These mercenaries are now resorting to their basic instinct of survival. They are eating their wounded and dead to survive. This is a form of Necro-Cannibalism (the eating of dead human flesh).
